Nylon Gears & Worm Wheels
MC nylon gears, sprockets and worm wheels machined to drawing — the quiet, self-lubricating alternative to steel and bronze transmission parts. Module, tooth count, bore, keyway and hub all built from your print, one piece up.
Product Overview
Gears and worm wheels machined from MC (cast) nylon do one thing metal gears cannot: they run quietly. The material damps vibration and absorbs meshing shock instead of ringing with it, which cuts drive noise dramatically on mixers, packaging machines, conveyors and any geared drive that works near people. Nylon also runs dry — no grease means no grease migration into food, paper or textile product.
Every gear here is a machined part, not a moulded catalogue item. Send your drawing with module, tooth count, bore, keyway and hub requirements — or the worn gear to copy — and we cut it from cast nylon stock. Spur gears, sprockets, worm wheels and special tooth forms are all normal work, from one replacement piece to production volumes.

Three Reasons Nylon Gears Outlast Metal in the Right Duty
Long Service Life
Good wear resistance, impact toughness and corrosion resistance — the gear keeps running efficiently and reliably through long service, and it cannot rust or corrode in wet, washed-down or chemically aggressive environments where steel teeth degrade.
High Load Capacity
MC nylon carries heavy loads with high strength and hardness, which is why it holds up in heavy-duty service — mixer drives, heavy conveyors, marine and rail positions — where ordinary plastics would chew through in weeks.
Low Friction, High Efficiency
The low coefficient of friction on the tooth surface reduces wear at the mesh and cuts energy loss, improving transmission efficiency — and because nylon runs dry, there is no lubrication schedule on the gear itself.
Where Nylon Gears Work
The same cast-nylon transmission parts serve across industries — anywhere a quiet, lubrication-free, corrosion-proof gear or wear part is wanted.
General Industry
Mixer support rollers, valve bodies and cores, ball-valve seats, insulating sleeves, guide plates and rubber baffles — the standard wear-part set for processing and general machinery.
Railway
Axlebox components, liner plates, spring seats, pin bushings, dust guards, crosshead slippers and small-end bearings — cast nylon parts that take load and vibration without corroding.
Marine
Plain and rudder bearings, water-pump bearings and impellers, pulleys and sliders, sprockets, handles and seals — nylon runs in seawater where bronze and steel need constant attention.

Nylon Gear Questions
Can you copy a gear from a sample or a drawing?
Both. Send the drawing with module, tooth count, width, bore and keyway — or simply the worn gear itself and we measure and match it. Tooth form, hub shape and any fixing holes are machined to match, so the new gear drops into the same position without rework.
How much quieter is nylon than a steel gear?
Noticeably — the material damps the meshing vibration that steel transmits and rings with, so replacing a steel or bronze gear with MC nylon typically cuts drive noise sharply. It is one of the main reasons mixer and packaging-machine builders specify nylon transmission parts.
Do nylon gears need lubrication?
No. MC nylon is self-lubricating and runs dry against a steel mating gear, which removes the grease schedule and the risk of lubricant contaminating food, paper or textile product. A lightly greased mesh is still fine where the rest of the drive is lubricated anyway.
Which colour should I choose — does it matter?
Mechanically, colour is cosmetic — natural, green, blue and black perform the same. Colour is mostly used to identify the part in an assembly or to match a brand standard. Tell us the colour you want at enquiry; it is set in the material, not painted on.
What is the minimum order?
One piece — a single replacement gear for a stopped machine is the most common urgent order we ship. Production volumes and mixed types (gears, sprockets and wear plates together) ship in the same order as needed.
