UHMW-PE Custom Machined Parts
Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene parts machined to your drawing: liners, guide rails, wear strips, sliders, sprockets and special profiles. Extreme wear and impact resistance, self-lubricating, and nothing sticks to it. One piece up — and the more you order, the better the unit price.
Product Overview
UHMW-PE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) is the sliding and lining material engineers reach for when steel wears out and nylon is not quite right. It combines four properties that rarely live together: very high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, outstanding impact strength even at low temperature, and natural self-lubrication — with a slippery, non-stick surface that powder and granular material simply will not build up on.
The classic application is lining: hoppers, silos and chutes that handle coal, cement, lime, mineral powder, salt and grain get UHMW-PE liners so the material flows instead of arching, sticking or freezing to the wall. The same wear and sliding properties make it the standard for guide rails, wear strips, sliders, arc boards and chain sprockets across conveying, packaging, food and mining equipment.
Every part here is machined from UHMW-PE stock to your drawing or sample — sheet, rod or tube, any colour, any profile. Larger quantities get better unit pricing; ask with your drawing.

Four Properties, One Material
Extreme Wear Life
UHMW-PE outwears carbon steel and most plastics in sliding and abrasive service. Liners and wear strips in coal, cement, lime and mineral handling survive years of grit that would chew through plain steel plate in months.
Self-Lubricating, Nothing Sticks
The lowest friction coefficient of the common engineering plastics, with a surface that wet cement, clay, salt and sticky grain will not bond to. Material flows, discharge is complete, and there is no oil or grease to contaminate the product.
Tough in Every Sense
Outstanding impact strength, even at sub-zero temperature — it dents instead of cracking where other plastics shatter. It also resists corrosion, weak acids and alkalis, absorbs vibration and noise, and is non-toxic and non-contaminating.
Linings, Guides and Everything Sliding
Any shape that stock can be machined into — the photos show a small sample of what leaves our shop.
Hopper, Silo & Chute Liners
Flat and formed liner panels, with countersunk fixing holes, for coal, cement, lime, mineral powder, salt and grain handling. Bolt-on replacement that ends arching, sticking and wall wear in one retrofit.
Guide Rails, Wear Strips & Sliders
Straight and curved guide rails, low-profile wear strips, chain guides, sliders, V-blocks, pipe saddles and arc boards — the quiet, low-friction contact surface for bottles, cans, chain and product flow.
Sprockets, Augers & Special Parts
Sprockets and star wheels, auger and screw flights, grooved rings, rollers and one-off profiles to print. Quieter than steel, gentler on the mating chain, and they never rust.

UHMW-PE Part Questions
Will a liner really stop material sticking in our hopper?
That is the most common retrofit we supply. UHMW-PE's low friction and non-stick surface mean coal, wet clay, cement, salt and grain slide instead of bonding to the wall, so arching and rat-holing drop sharply and discharge is complete. Send the hopper dimensions and material, and we propose liner thickness and a fixing layout.
How does it compare with nylon for wear parts?
UHMW-PE is slicker and tougher in impact, and it is the better choice for sliding contact with loose material, bottles or chain — liners, wear strips, guides. Nylon is harder and stiffer, which suits loaded rollers, gears and bushings. If you are not sure which fits the position, send the drawing and the working condition and we recommend one.
Can you copy a worn or broken part?
Yes — send the worn part or a sketch with dimensions. Because we machine from stock rather than mould, one-off replacement parts and small repair batches are routine, and repeat orders match the first part exactly.
Is it suitable for food or grain contact?
UHMW-PE is non-toxic and non-contaminating, which is why it is standard for grain, flour and food handling guides and chutes. It needs no lubrication, so there is no oil to migrate into the product. Tell us the application at enquiry and we confirm the grade.
What about quantity pricing?
One piece is fine for trials and repairs. For liners and wear strips ordered by the batch, unit price drops with quantity — send the drawing with your estimated annual volume and the quote will reflect it.
