Nylon Rollers & Sleeves

Cast nylon rollers, sleeves and bushings for conveyors, mixers and processing equipment — low friction against belts, self-lubricating, dust- and waterproof, and one third the weight of the metal part they replace. Machined to drawing, one piece up.

Product Overview

A nylon roller touches the belt, the product and the environment at the same time — and cast nylon handles all three. The friction coefficient against belt and product surfaces is low, so the belt runs easy and the surface does not scuff or mark the product. Wear life is long, and the sleeve will not chew a belt the way a worn or seized steel roller does.

MC nylon is self-lubricating: it runs without a drop of oil, keeps turning in dusty, wet and otherwise hostile conditions where a greased bearing would seize, and its non-magnetic character stays out of the way of detection and magnetic separation equipment. It resists corrosion and ageing, tolerates weak acids, weak alkalis and organic solvents, and is non-toxic and non-contaminating for food and chemical contact zones.

Every roller and sleeve here is machined from cast nylon stock to your drawing — diameter, length, wall, flanges, grooves and bore. Send the print or the worn part.

Why cast nylon

What the Material Does for the Machine

Runs Without Oil, Never Seizes

Excellent self-lubrication means no greasing schedule and no dry-seizure failures. The roller keeps running through dust, washdown and neglect, absorbs repeated shock and vibration, and its anti-magnetic character suits lines with metal detection or magnetic separation.

Survives the Environment

Strong corrosion and ageing resistance — weak acids, weak alkalis and organic solvents do not attack it, and it is non-toxic and non-contaminating. Dust and water seals are excellent: in high-dust environments the roller keeps water and grit out and keeps turning.

Light, Quiet, Efficient

A nylon roller weighs about one third of the equivalent steel part — easier to install, gentler on the structure, and less rotating mass to accelerate. Low noise, smooth running and low maintenance add up to less energy per tonne and a longer service cycle.

Forms we machine

Rollers, Sleeves and the Shapes Between

Same material, machined to the position: straight sleeves, flanged bushings, grooved belt rollers, concave guide rollers and custom profiles.

Sleeves & Bushings

Straight and flanged sleeves for shafts, idlers and pivot points. Precise bore, controlled wall thickness, and the low-friction surface that keeps shafts and pins from galling.

Grooved & Profiled Rollers

V-grooves, flat grooves and flanges machined to hold a belt or rope on track — mixer support rollers, return rollers, guide rollers and tensioning positions.

Concave & Special Profiles

Hourglass (concave) rollers that centre a drifting belt, crown profiles, and any custom contour drawn for the machine — turned true in one setup on our own lathes.

FAQ

Nylon Roller Questions

Will a nylon roller damage my belt?

The opposite — low surface friction and a smooth machined face are gentle on belt covers, and the material will not develop the sharp wear step or rust bloom that seizes a steel roller and cuts a belt. Replacing worn steel rollers with nylon is a common way to stop repeat belt damage on conveyors and mixers.

Does it really run without any lubrication?

Yes. MC nylon is self-lubricating, so there is no grease to dry out, wash away or attract grit — which is exactly why it does not seize in dusty or washed-down environments the way a greased steel bearing does. It also tolerates repeated shock and vibration without brinelling the way a hardened steel race can.

How much lighter is nylon than the steel part?

About one third of the weight of the equivalent steel component. That matters beyond handling: less rotating mass means less drive energy, easier installation and replacement, lower noise and smoother running — and the structure around it lasts longer too.

We run in a dusty, damp environment — will it survive?

That is its home ground. Nylon rollers seal out dust and water well, resist corrosion, ageing, weak acids, weak alkalis and organic solvents, and keep running where a greased bearing would pack with grit and seize. Say what the environment contains at enquiry and we confirm the material grade.

Can you machine to our drawing?

Yes — that is the standard way we work. Send the drawing with diameter, length, wall, groove or flange profile and bore, or the worn part to copy. One piece is fine, and repeat batches match the first because the parts are machined, not moulded.
