Nylon Wheels

Cast nylon wheels machined from stock — for pallet trucks, forklifts, racking and equipment that stands loaded on hard floors. Hard-rolling, corrosion-proof and never marking, with custom diameters, bores and bearings built to drawing.

Nylon wheels trade a little rolling comfort for a lot of wear life. The material is hard, slick and completely indifferent to water, alkalis and most acids and solvents — on a hard floor under a heavy load, a cast nylon wheel simply outlasts almost everything else you could put under the same equipment. That is why it is the default tread for hand pallet trucks, and the fallback for racking, jacks and machinery that stands loaded for weeks.

We machine wheels from cast nylon stock rather than injection moulding them from a fixed tool, so the wheel behaves like a machined component: larger diameters, one-off sizes, special bores and bearing fits are normal work, not exceptions. Send a drawing, a worn wheel, or just the truck model — the wheel is built around your load and your floor, not picked from a list.

FAQ

Nylon Wheel FAQs

Nylon or PU — which material suits my wheel?

Nylon wins on hard, clean floors under heavy or static load, and anywhere water or chemicals are present — it rolls with the least effort and never corrodes or marks. PU wins on rough or debris-strewn floors, over long distances, and anywhere noise and ride comfort matter, because the elastomer tread absorbs shock. Tell us the load per wheel, the floor and the distance, and we recommend the material rather than defaulting to one.

Are nylon wheels noisy?

Harder and noisier than rubber or PU, yes — that is the honest trade for the wear life and the low rolling resistance. On a hand pallet truck moving pallets across a warehouse the noise is normal and expected; in a quiet indoor environment or on a finished floor, a PU or rubber tread is usually the better choice.

Can nylon wheels take heavy static load without damage?

That is one of their strengths. Nylon does not take a compression set the way elastomer treads do, so a wheel that stands loaded for weeks does not flat-spot the way PU or rubber can. It is the standard choice for racking, jacks and equipment that sits loaded between moves.

What happens on wet or smooth floors?

Nylon has the least grip of the common wheel materials, and on a wet, polished or icy surface a loaded wheel can slide. If the floor gets wet in normal service, say so at enquiry — the answer is usually a PU tread, a wider wheel, or a grooved running surface cut into the nylon.

Can you machine a size that is not in any catalogue?

Yes — that is the point of machining from cast stock instead of moulding. Any diameter, width, bore, keyway or bearing fit within our stock range is a machining job, not a tooling project. Send the drawing, the worn wheel, or the truck model, and one piece is fine.

Technical notes

What You May Want to Know About Nylon Wheels

Cast nylon vs injection-moulded nylon

Cast (MC) nylon is polymerised in the mould from the monomer, which gives a denser, tougher, more wear-resistant material than injection-moulded grades — and it is not limited to a fixed tool’s size. Machining from cast stock means the diameter, width and hub profile follow your drawing, and the crystal-clear surface finish a turned wheel carries is part of why it rolls so easily.

Where nylon is the right answer

Hand pallet trucks take the volume: steering wheels and tandem load rollers on hard warehouse floors. Beyond them, racking and storage systems, screw jacks and lifting equipment, machinery levelling and support wheels, and general material handling where the wheel stands loaded and needs to shrug off water and chemicals. If the floor is hard, the load is heavy and the environment is wet or aggressive, start with nylon.

Where it is not

Rough, debris-strewn or soft floors chew any hard tread, and nylon passes shock straight through to the truck and the load. Long travel distances, noise-sensitive environments and wet smooth surfaces are PU or rubber territory. Choosing the material honestly at the start is cheaper than replacing the wrong tread every few months.

What we need to quote a wheel

Outside diameter, width, bore or bearing number, load per wheel, and the floor it runs on. Add the environment — water, chemicals, temperature — and how far the equipment travels in a shift. With those numbers we confirm the material, the hub design and the bore fit, and quote against a specification instead of a guess.

Why buy from SENC

We machine in our own workshop in Hengshui, so the wheel is not resold from a catalogue. One piece is possible, sizes can be mixed in an order, and the bore or bearing can be changed for your truck rather than for a stock list. ISO 9001:2015 quality system, quotation within 24 hours, and shipment worldwide.

Send the Load, the Floor and the Speed

Tell us the load per wheel, the floor surface, the travel speed and the hub mounting. You get a material recommendation, a price and a delivery date — usually within one business day.
